Getting in shape requires only your commitment, and a minimal investment in apparel and footwear. Clothing should be lightweight and non-restricting. A properly balanced diet in proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals is essential. So girlfriends, before you suit up, think about what suits you.

As a dancer though, you know how important it is to condition your body and keep it performance ready. Age and existing health conditions should also be considered. We're not saying you have to spend a lot of money, but you do want to get quality.

Back in the dark days of the 80's (you want proof they were dark days? We have several pictures of ourselves with massive amounts of blue eyeshadow and huge hair), workout clothes were only made to fit you if you looked like jane fonda.

Workout Wear

That's the secret to perfectly fitting activewear. Sports logos and athletic fashions have become common aspects of people's wardrobes, as people need to look as though they participate in sports to be in style. Cotton is not recommended because it holds moisture. If you expect to be exposed to excessive wind and rain, consider wind/rain pants as well.

And guys, those tiny cotton shorts you wore to high school gym class? Throw them out. Finding the right sports brait's not always an easy task. This is terrific for any workout, but it's especially important in yoga, where range of motion is the key. During exercise, increased blood flow to the skin results in direct transfer of heat to the environment as well as loss of heat during evaporation of sweat.

Appearance can be a real tradeoff. Running stores are great, but they're often very expensive. At the end of the 20th century, americans were taking part in individual sports of all kinds jogging, bicycling, swimming, skiing, rock climbing, playing tennis, as well as more unusual sports such as bungee jumping, hang gliding, and wind surfing.
